Second suspect arrested for rapper's murder at Yorkdale mall

A second suspect wanted for killing a rapper outside Yorkdale Shopping Centre last summer has been arrested.

Toronto Police said 23-year-old Bryan Emmanuel Fuentes Gramajo, of Longueuil, Que., was captured Thursday by police in Montreal.
He is charged with first-degree murder after Kashif Jamal Bentley-Jean was shot dead at the mall shortly after 6 a.m. on July 17, 2025.
At the time, police said officers responded to a call for a person with a gun in the Hwy. 401 and Dufferin St. area. When they arrived at the scene, a male victim was found in the mall parking lot who had been shot.
Killers fled before cops arrived at mall
The killers fled the area before cops arrived, police said. Life-saving measures were performed, but the victim died at the scene.
Gramajo, who is scheduled to appear in a Toronto courtroom on Tuesday, was listed at number one on the BOLO Program’s most wanted list .
A report suggested Bentley-Jean, a 28-year-old Toronto resident also known as Lil Bentley, had ties to gangs in Montreal .
La Presse reported Bentley-Jean appeared to have founded a street gang known in west Montreal and Toronto, and apparently was close to another gang in northeast Montreal.
Shortly after the shooting, police identified three suspects who were wanted on Canada-wide warrants for first-degree murder.

On Aug. 4, police said Bradley Lucate Nicolas, of Montreal, was arrested by authorities in Laval.
Cops also said a third suspect, 28-year-old Jimmy Prudent, of Montreal, is still wanted.
