DULUTH, GA — Imari Berry sent Gas South Arena into an uproar.

The Louisville women’s basketball guard drained a shot from well behind the logo at the end of the third quarter on Saturday. Unfortunately for her and the second-seeded Cardinals, it didn’t count. But it would’ve been the perfect end to a quarter that allowed Louisville to create the separation it needed to beat the third-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels, 65-57, in the ACC Tournament semifinals

Berry ended the game with 22 points after opening the contest shooting 3-for-3 from 3-point range. She had one final rebound in the waning seconds for a double-double, helping UofL reach the tournament championship game for the first time since 2023. The Cards (27-6) will face top-seeded Duke for the league crown at 1 p.m. Sunday at Gas South Arena

UofL and UNC had gone stride for stride in the first half, which featured four ties in the first 10 minutes of the game. The Cardinals outscored the Tar Heels, 17-13, in the third quarter and carried the momentum for the rest of the game. They fended off North Carolina’s last comeback attempt, icing the game at the free throw line.
