Regionals
The top four seeds will host a regional site. Three of the regions — hosted by the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 seeds — function as three-team regions. Two at-large teams seeded No. 8 through No. 11 will face off for the right to play the higher seed, with the winner advancing out of the region into the semifinals.
The fourth region merely consists of the No. 4 seed and No. 5 seed, who will square off with a trip to the semifinals on the line.
Frozen Four
At this stage, the tournament functions like an ordinary single-elimination bracket, featuring two semifinal showdowns and a championship game. These three matchups will take place at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pennsylvania.
