· Yahoo Sports
Have mercy, Logan Webb put on a show for Team USA on Friday night.

Webb, the San Francisco Giants' starting pitcher, went 4 2/3 innings, didn't allow a run, walked one, and struck out five as Team USA defeated Team Canada 5-3 to advance in the World Baseball Classic.
Team USA manager Mark DeRosa really needed to have Webb step up and change the narrative around his managing and lack of WBC knowledge during the games at Daikin Park in Houston.
Webb is now 2-0 in WBC play. Mason Miller came on in the ninth and threw some filthy gas right at Team Canada. Miller retired all three batters he faced and, well, it wasn't much of a competition.
Giants fans are watching Webb and hoping he can bring that type of effort when Opening Day rolls around.
Kyle Schwarber got Team USA on the board first with a run-scoring groundout that brought Bryce Harper home. That put Team USA up 1-0. Then, in the third inning, Alex Bregman reached safely on an infield hit. But Team Canada third baseman Abraham Toro committed a throwing error, allowing Harper and Aaron Judge to score.

That put Team USA up 3-0 at that point. Brice Turang got into the action, connecting on an RBI single that scored Roman Anthony in the sixth inning. Then, Pete Crow-Armstrong followed with another run-scoring single. His hit scored Cal Raleigh, who was at third base, and Turang moved up to second base.
With Team USA ahead 5-0, it looked like they could put things in cruise control. But Team Canada wasn't going down without a fight. Tyler Black connected for an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth, closing the gap to 5-1. Bo Naylor followed with a two-run home run, bringing Team Canada within 5-3.
But that's how the game ended in front of a raucous pro-Team USA crowd in Houston.
Turang finished 2-for-3 for Team USA with an RBI. He's hitting a cool .467 in WBC play.
What's next for Team USA? Oh, they get to travel to Miami for a WBC semifinal showdown with the Dominican Republic. And MLB fans better believe that loanDepot Park in Miami is going to be packed.
Batten down the hatches, Giants fans. Webb, Turang, and Team USA are going to have their hands full when they get to South Florida.
