The Blues were quiet in January and didn’t do any business, but they’re expected to be busy this summer with a number of positions needing to be filled
Chelsea are reportedly still in the market for a centre back, whilst they are also said to be looking for a midfielder and an attacker.
Chelsea want to sign Mamadou Sangare
The Blues are said to have made midfield a priority with the club looking to lessen the burden on Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea are said to appreciate both Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson, but will almost certainly face competition for the duo.
It’s been reported Chelsea are close to a deal for Valentin Barco, but it seems another name has appeared on their radar.
Africa Foot have reported the Blues have expressed an interest in Len midfielder Sangare with a view to making a move in summer 2027.
The report adds the Blues are considering making an offer of €45m for the Mali international, but Lens would like to keep him for one more year.
Tottenham, Manchester United, West Ham and Crystal Palace are said to be interested, whilst it’s believed clubs from Saudi Arabia have also enquired.
Sangare has made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and providing three assists, with Lens sitting just a point behind PSG at the top of Ligue 1.
Chelsea need a new centre back
Whilst a midfielder appears to be on the radar for the summer, a more pressing issue is at centre back, with the Blues in desperate need of reinforcements.
