Trump says Gavin Newsom’s dyslexia makes him unqualified to be president: ‘LOW IQ’

Trump continued their feud on Monday by once again attacking Newsom over his dyslexia, noting that his learning disability makes Newsom unfit to lead the country.
“Honestly, I’m all for people with learning disabilities, but not for my president,” Trump told reporters at the White House, per Reuters. “I think a president should not have learning disabilities.”
He continued: “And I know it’s highly controversial to say such a horrible thing,” before adding that when it came to the “low IQ” governor “Gavin Newscum,” his nickname for the governor, “everything about him is dumb.”
A White House spokesperson confirmed in a statement that “President Trump is right. Gavin Newscum is the worst governor in America, and he also may be the dumbest.”
Trump slip leads to Newsom mocking
However, at one point during his insults, Trump referred to Newsom as already being “the president of the United States,” which the governor later mocked on social media.
“NO THANK YOU, WE BELIEVE IN FREE ELECTIONS!” the governor wrote on X in all caps, as it was Newsom’s turn to mock Trump’s signature social media style, something he has adopted in recent months.

In a recent interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade, Trump spoke up about Newsom.
“He admitted he had learning disabilities. Somebody said, ‘Well, what’s wrong with that?’ I said, ‘That’s OK, but not for the president.’
“Presidents can’t have a learning disability,” he added. “If you have that, that’s not a good thing.”
And during a rally in Kentucky last week, Trump brought up Newsom’s intelligence, or lack thereof.
“He admitted he has mental problems, that he’s not a smart person … that he is unable to read a speech,” Trump told supporters. “I don’t want the president of the United States to have a cognitive deficiency.”
Newsom replied online: “Too late,” in reference to critics of Trump who have deemed the president as mentally unsound.

Newsom vocal about his dyslexia
The governor has been open about his dyslexia — at an appearance in Atlanta last month, he linked the learning disorder to his lower SAT score and the reason he doesn’t read speeches.
However, Newsom was slammed by many, including the president , for being racist when he told a crowd, which included Black audience members, that he was “like you” for getting a middling SAT score.
Newsom pushed back on the “fake f***ing outrage” he was receiving from critics.
“You didn’t give a s*** about the president of the United States of America posting an ape video of President Obama or calling African nations s***holes — but you’re going to call me racist for talking about my lifelong struggle with dyslexia?” he asked on X .
Newsom was referring to a video Trump posted on his Truth Social account that included a clip depicting Barack Obama and wife Michelle as apes, which drew widespread criticism from Democrats and Republicans.
Trump also took to Truth Social last week to call Newsom “a cognitive mess,” to which the governor responded on X : “I spoke about my dyslexia. I know that’s hard for a brain-dead moron who bombs children and protects pedophiles to understand.”
