Dolphins meeting with All-American DL before 2026 NFL draft

The Miami Dolphins have a decent defensive line group heading into 2026 with Zach Sieler and 2025 first-round pick Kenneth Grant set to start again and Jordan Phillips, Zeek Biggers, Alex Huntley and Matthew Butler providing depth.
However, with new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley running things, there's a chance that they want to add more of their own young talent to the room this offseason.

That may be why the Dolphins are meeting with Ohio State defensive lineman Kayden McDonald before the 2026 NFL draft, as McDonald revealed in a recent interview with Sports Illustrated's Justin Melo.
McDonald, 21, was a four-star recruit out of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia, before committing to Ohio State.
In three years with the Buckeyes, he appeared in 34 games and recorded 85 tackles, three sacks, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He also won a national championship in 2024 and earned All-Big Ten and All-American honors in 2025.
McDonald is currently projected to go late on Day 1 on early on Day 2, so the Dolphins will have use some valuable capital to bring him in if that's something they want to do.
