When Merrimack coach Scott Borek shook hands with UND coach Dane Jackson after the Fighting Hawks beat the Warriors 3-0 in the NCAA regional Thursday night, they had a longer-than-usual exchange.

Borek appeared stern as he said a few things to Jackson, who appeared to be confused.

Jackson responded "okay" to Borek a couple of times.

Then, the two went on their way.

ESPN2's television cameras captured the exchange, and social media began speculating about what was said.

But after Friday's practice at the Denny Sanford Premier Center, Jackson declined to elaborate.

"Nothing really serious," Jackson said. "He had a couple of comments. I'll leave it between Scott and I."

UND has minimal history with Merrimack.

Thursday's game marked the third-ever meeting between the programs. They also played a two-game series in Grand Forks in the fall of 2009.

UND will now play Quinnipiac at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Sioux Falls Regional final. The winner advances to the NCAA Frozen Four in Las Vegas.

Merrimack's season ended with Thursday's loss. The Warriors won their first Hockey East playoff title this season by beating UConn on March 21 in Boston's T.D. Garden.
