3 free agent options for Colts, who are still in linebacker market
· Yahoo Sports
Linebacker remains a major need for the Indianapolis Colts. Even with the addition of Akeem Davis-Gaither, this is a position that remains very short on experience.

So still on GM Chris Ballard's radar is potentially making an outside addition through free agency.
"We've got some young guys in the locker room," Ballard said of the linebacker position. "We brought in Gaither-Davis, who we like. Lou's had him. So he knows his skill set really well. There's still a couple guys in free agency that we'll still consider. We'd really like to see JC (Jaylon Carlies) -- JC's got to stay healthy, but we think he's got the skill set to be a really good inside backer."
If a move is made here, it's possible that it might not come until after the NFL draft, where Ballard can then assess the totality of this position group.
But for now, let's highlight three free agent options that make sense for the Colts.
LB Bobby Wagner
The addition of Wagner would bring needed experience and stability to this position group. Wagner is a 10-time Pro Bowler and has been a first-team All-Pro six times. Wagner was most recently a Pro Bowler and a second-team All-Pro in 2024. Last season, he logged 20 pressures as a blitzer, he's been an incredibly reliable tackler in his career, and logged two interceptions and two pass breakups in 2025.
LB Bobby Okereke
A reunion with Okereke makes a lot of sense. He, along with Davis-Gaither, would provide needed experience at this position, hopefully helping to raise the floor of this unit. Okereke had two interceptions and four pass breakups last season.
LB Germaine Pratt
Re-signing Pratt would help elevate the floor of this position group. The addition of Pratt early last season helped stabilize this position. Pratt finished his season with the Colts recording 101 total tackles and holding pass-catchers to 10.1 yards per reception. He also had one interception and three pass breakups.
