Free agent turned down guaranteed money offer to sign with Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals didn’t engage in a bidding for Ja'Sir Taylor, yet signed him in free agency anyway.

According to WLWT’s Charlie Clifford, Taylor turned down an offer with guaranteed money from another team to sign with the Bengals and compete for the nickel role.

There’s probably a similar story around the Kyle Dugger signing, too, as the Bengals will for sure be telling free agents in these waves that they will have a chance to start, or at least make the roster.

It helps that the Bengals need so much help on defense, but are in a championship window with Joe Burrow, making them an attractive destination.

The Bengals certainly need help at the nickel, too. They don’t have a starter there while Dax Hill and DJ Turner handle the job on the boundaries.

Of course, the Bengals’ two signings don’t seem to have a major impact on the draft plan. But the Bengals still have the right mix of factors to lure free agents, clearly.
