Falcons to host dual-threat Georgia Tech QB on pre-draft visit

The Atlanta Falcons have a pre-draft visit scheduled with Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The Yellow Jackets QB has visits coming up with both the Falcons and Carolina Panthers over the next week.

King is considered a Day 3 prospect but has nice tools as a 6-foot-3, dual-threat quarterback. Last year at Georgia Tech, he passed for 2,951 yards, 14 touchdowns and six interceptions, adding another 953 rushing yards and 15 scores on the ground.

King's production over the last two seasons has been impressive, even if he lacks the tools to play in the NFL right away.

"He’s a grit-and-guts passer with subpar footwork and mechanics, but he finds ways to make plays when needed," wrote NFL.com's Lance Zierlein in his scouting profile. "He’s not nearly the passer he needs to be for the pro game, but his talent as a runner and mental toughness could give a boost to his chances."

The Falcons have Tua Tagovailoa, Michael Penix Jr. and Trevor Siemian on the roster, but Tagovailoa and Siemian are on one-year contracts. Since the team still has some questions marks at the position, drafting someone like King in the later rounds would make sense as a development third option.

King is currently rated as the 259th player on the Pro Football Focus big board for 2026. The Falcons have the 215th and 231st overall picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, which kicks off on April 23.
