In fact, it’s been 84 years since a player finished all four rounds without a single bogey. The world number one nearly mounted an epic comeback to win his third green jacket during his young career.

Scheffler’s amazing third round at Augusta featured a 7-under par round on Saturday. That even led to an odd question from a reporter irking Scheffler after he put up a massively impressive score.

Over the past five years, Scheffler has managed to win twice at Augusta during the 2022 and 2024 PGA Tour seasons. However, the 29 year old is still looking to complete golf’s Career Grand Slam by winning the U.S. Open.

Scheffler is quickly becoming one of the biggest names in golf history with his four major championships and consistent play on a week-to-week basis.

Meanwhile, his ongoing battle with McIlroy to claim the top spot as the best golfer on the PGA Tour is going to reach new heights following the Northern Irishman’s second straight Masters win.

McIlroy and Scheffler are expected to go head-to-head again in May during the PGA Championship. Scheffler won last year’s tournament and aims to win his fifth major when the event heads to Aronimink Golf Club.
