WEATHER: Severe thunderstorms set to sweep across SA

More disruptive weather is on the horizon for parts of the country. The South African Weather Service has issued Yellow Level 2 warnings for KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, and North West for Wednesday, 15 April.
KWAZULU-NATAL
The north-eastern and far western parts of the province are bracing for severe thunderstorms. Expect heavy downpours, frequent lightning, possible hail, and damaging winds. Elsewhere, conditions will start off partly cloudy and warm to hot, but cloud cover will build into the evening, bringing scattered showers and thundershowers.

DURBAN
Durban can expect a partly cloudy day with scattered showers and thundershowers developing. Temperatures will range from a low of 22°C to a high of 30°C, making for a warm and humid day.
FREE STATE
The Free State is also under a Yellow Level 2 warning. Severe thunderstorms could bring lightning, hail, and strong winds, with a risk of localised flooding and damage to infrastructure and informal settlements.
BLOEMFONTEIN
Bloemfontein will see cloudy skies with scattered showers and thundershowers. Temperatures are expected to dip to 12°C in the morning and reach a high of 21°C.
NORTH WEST
North West residents should prepare for similar conditions, with a Yellow Level 2 warning in place. Heavy rain, lightning, hail, and damaging winds could impact large parts of the province.
MAHIKENG
Mahikeng is set for a cloudy day with scattered showers and thundershowers. Temperatures will range between 14°C and 23°C.
