So how did the draft experts grade these selections?
The addition of Regis bolsters the Jaguars' defensive tackle position -- a major need -- specifically providing a run-first presence.
Landing Pregnon at pick 88 overall was one of the best value picks on Day 2, relative to the consensus big board.
Huskey, meanwhile, brings another versatile presence to the Jaguars' safety room.
In Round 2, the draft analysts weren't all that impressed with the Jaguars picking tight end Nate Boerkircher. But what grades did James Gladstone's third round selections receive?
Draft experts grade Jaguars' Albert Regis pick
USA Today: C+
"Jacksonville looks due for a difference-maker on the interior. Regis can help stuff the run, but not much more should be expected of him, and he's not a dominant force there."
"He plays with power and is a “plugger” type of defender. This, like much of everyone at this point in the draft, is a dart throw."
CBS Sports: C+
"I thought the Jaguars might try to add some pass-rushing juice to the interior of the defense in this draft, but that's not really the case with Regis. His 13 pressures this past season were a career high. No, he's more of just a solid run-defender to add to their interior rotation."
Draft experts grade Jaguars' Emmanuel Pregnon pick
USA Today: A-
"James Gladstone clearly wants the Jaguars to level up at the line of scrimmage. A two-time transfer from Wyoming and USC, Pregnon is solid to the core and can be trusted to get the job done in all phases."
Yahoo! Sports: B+
"An older prospect with huge hands and good length, he'll be better in the run game for the Jaguars than the passing game, but he fills a need in a solid way. Good range for him too."
CBS Sports: A
"The Jaguars get one of the most physically imposing offensive linemen in the draft class. There's not much body fat on the 314-pounder. He can really move people in the run game and provide firm pockets in pass protection."
Draft experts grade Jaguars' Jalen Huskey pick
USA Today: D+
"James Gladstone caps a petty strange night for Jacksonville with a serious stretch. Huskey was productive and versatile throughout his career, but his build and athleticism figure to be problems in coverage at the next level. Though he could rotate in at safety or at nickel and contribute on special teams, his playmaking skills simply might not translate."
Yahoo! Sports: C-
"The Jaguars need to hit on their picks, because they’re mostly running back the same team that lost in the wild-card round. Huskey feels rich here, but maybe he works out."
CBS Sports: C+
"Husky has played both corner and safety throughout his career and the Jaguars obviously coveted that versatility. He's probably too limited an athlete to stick at corner full-time in the NFL, though."
