Although not on most fans' or even pundits' big board for the Broncos, Denver traded down from the 62nd overall pick to snag Onyedim, a five-year veteran of Iowa State and Texas A&M. The versatile defensive lineman has a real chance to compete to replace the gap left by John Franklin-Myers.
Here is a sampling of how Broncos Country reacted to the selection of Onyedim. Welcome to Colorado, Tyler!
Next selection: 108th overall (fourth round)

#Broncos fans, you got one of the most versatile DL in the 2026 draft class in Tyler Onyedim!

In his college career, he’s played at Nose, 3-tech, and as a DE at Iowa State and Texas A&M.
Played a bunch of spots during @ShrineBowl week too.
Versatile, great step and developed… pic.twitter.com/sk0cDtcmpR
#Broncos' biggest loss of the offseason was at DL (John Franklin-Myers). #Broncos address DL with their first pick this draft. Makes perfect sense.

But -- the McNeil-Warren/Hill/Klare R2 run was significant.
Denver has 7 Day 3 picks to address TE, ILB, RB, OL (maybe S).

New Broncos DT Tyler Onyedim is the seventh player from Texas A&M to be drafted by the Broncos.

He's the first Aggie selected by Denver since Von Miller in 2011.
In the end, the Broncos had only one major departure this offseason from last year's 14-3 team and that was John Franklin-Myers.

Make sense that Denver's first pick is part of the future replacement plan, even if Onyedim isn't thrust into a big role in 2026.
I know many in Broncos Country wanted a more exciting position, but football starts & ends in the trenches. Denver’s roster is at such a point where no rookie is likely to start so it frees you up for BPA. Thats a luxury. Reinvesting at D tackle is about substance, not sizzle.
