Leeds United want to sign Sporting CP defensive midfielder Hidemasa Morita in the summer having attempted to lure him to Elland Road last year, according to the Daily Mail. Leeds have impressed on their return to the top-flight and Whites manager Daniel Farke is keen to bolster his squad ahead of next season. Morita opted to see out the final year of his Sporting contract when the Peacocks came calling last summer, but the 40-cap Japan international is now willing to commit to the move once Leeds secure their Premier League status.

The West Yorkshire club are currently 15th in the league table ahead of their final four games, six points clear the relegation places. One more victory could be enough to guarantee their safety, and they will fancy their chances of picking up all three points when they take on relegated Burnley on Friday at home. Leeds face Spurs, Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham United afterwards and are expected to do enough to get the job done. Farke will look to challenge for a top-half-of-the-table finish next season, and adding Morita to his midfield could be huge.
The 30-year-old brings much-needed experience to the table having played over 100 Primeira Liga games for Sporting.
