Analyst predicts Jaguars' 2 opponents in London games

· Yahoo Sports

There will be nine international games taking place this season in the NFL, two of which will be played by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Before the NFL schedule release on May 14, one analyst attempted to predict who the Jaguars' opponents would be for those two games.

What we do know right now is who the Jaguars 17 opponents will be in 2026 and that they will be the home team for the two London games, which narrows down the pool of potential opponents.

As the home team this season, the Jaguars are scheduled to face Houston, Tennessee, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Washington, and New England.

So who does CBS Sports' John Breech think the Jaguars will play in their two games in London?

His first prediction is that the Jaguars play an AFC opponent -- either Cleveland or Tennessee, is Breech's guess.

"On the AFC side, let's start with the Titans," wrote Breech. "The NFL usually tries to avoid sending divisional games overseas, but it has happened before. As for the Browns, they've never played an international game as the visiting team, so this would break new ground."

The second game, Breech predicts, will be against an NFC team -- either Philadelphia or Washington.

"On the NFC side, there are only two options: the Eagles or Commanders," Breech wrote. "Although Washington is already set to host a game in London this year, the NFL could have the Commanders play back-to-back games there, with one as the home team and one as the visiting team. As for Philadelphia, the Eagles have only played two international games in franchise history, which is tied for the second-fewest in the league, so the NFL could send them abroad."

Playing in London has become the norm for the Jaguars. Except for the 2020 NFL season, the Jaguars have played in London every year since 2013. This will be the third time that they will have played back-to-back games in London as well.

Overall, the Jaguars are 7-7 in those 14 games played abroad.
