Rapheal Davis of the Big Ten Network posted on social media on Tuesday night that he's hearing some continued positive buzz around Fears, stating he "could be a late first or early second round pick if he opts for the NBA Draft." Davis noted that he's been told Fears has had three private workouts with NBA teams, "excelling" in two of those workouts.

🚨 According to a source, Jeremy Fears Jr. has participated in three private NBA workouts, excelling in two. His IQ and control of pace have impressed scouts. With more workouts scheduled, it seems Jeremy could be a late 1st to early 2nd round pick if he opts for the NBA draft.

Fears had a breakout season in 2025-26, averaging 15.2 points and 9.4 assists per game. He earned multiple All-American honors and will surely be considered in the mix for preseason Big Ten Player of the Year next season (should he return to college).
The situation with Fears and his NBA potential is interesting, with there being differing opinions on where he'd land if he left early this year. It's been reported that Fears looked impressive during the NBA Combine last week, but it hasn't necessarily translated to the mock drafts across the industry. He has been mostly a mid-to-late second round projection, with Yahoo! Sports leaving him completely off their most recent mock draft earlier this week.
Fears had previously said that he's looking for a first round grade as a determining factor for opting to remain in the NBA Draft. If others are in line with what Davis' source is saying, then there's a very strong chance Fears will be done with the Spartans after all.
