Suspect sought after young girl sexually assaulted in Agincourt; woman found dead in Cabbagetown

A male suspect is being sought after a young girl was the victim of an alleged sexual assault in Agincourt earlier this month.

Toronto Police said officers responded shortly before 4 p.m. on May 12 to a report of a sexual assault in the Finch Ave. E. and McCowan Rd. area.

It was reported to police that the suspect approached the eight-year-old female victim inside a retail store. He allegedly sexually assaulted the victim and followed her within the store.

The suspect grabbed the victim, who then alerted family members, cops said. The suspect was confronted by a family member of the victim and fled the area on foot.

Investigators released images of the suspect and describe him as between 20 and 30 years old with eyeglasses.

He was last seen wearing a green Nike baseball hat on backwards, with the “swoosh” logo in white. He was also wearing a long-sleeved green shirt and black track pants with white letters down the left leg.

Woman found dead in Cabbagetown garage

A woman was found dead Saturday morning inside a private garage in Cabbagetown.

Toronto Police said on social media that officers were flagged down around 9:20 a.m. for a medical complaint in the Dundas and Seaton Sts. area.

Police said an adult female was located in a private garage and was pronounced dead.

Cops said the investigation is ongoing and no further details were released.

Stolen jewelry now appraised at more than $1M

Several pieces of jewelry stolen at gunpoint downtown earlier this month has now been appraised at more than $1 million.

Toronto Police said officers responded to a call for a robbery on May 10 at approximately 4:50 a.m. in the Spadina Ave. and Bremner Blvd. area.

It was reported that four masked males approached the victims who were parked in a vehicle and held the victims at gunpoint.

According to police, they then stole more than $1-million worth of jewelry from the victims and fled the scene in a vehicle. One victim suffered minor injuries.

Investigators released images of the diamond-encrusted jewelry, which includes a pendant, chain and watch.

Man sought for criminal harassment in Riverdale

Toronto Police have turned to the public for help identifying a man wanted following a criminal harassment complaint in Riverdale.

Police said officers were called Thursday at 7 p.m. to Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue area.

It is reported to police that, on Monday, a 29-year-old woman was walking in the area when a man followed her on the sidewalk.

According to police, the man followed her as she tried to leave the area. She was able to flee and contacted police.

The suspect is wanted in relation to an ongoing criminal harassment investigation, cops said.

He is known to frequent the Danforth and Pape Aves. area.

An image of the suspect was released. The man is described as 50 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-9 with a medium build, dark complexion, and salt and pepper beard.

Police advise the public to not approach the suspect if located and to call 911 immediately.
