Cleveland Browns Podcast: Analyzing the quarterback room

· Yahoo Sports

The Cleveland Browns enter the 2026 season, as they have in many seasons, with a mess at quarterback. The team still has Deshaun Watson on the roster. It's been six years since he was a good quarterback, and now, after multiple Achilles tendon injuries, some believe he has a leg up in the competition to be the team's starter.

The last time Watson played, he was absolutely terrible, and the team shouldn't put him on the field again unless both Shedeur Sanders and Taylen Green are injured. That's saying something considering Green isn't ready to start in the NFL, but he would still be a better option than Watson.

Shedeur Sanders had some flashes and intriguing moments last year with an awful supporting cast, and the team spent the offseason rebuilding the offensive line and using premium picks to upgrade the wide receiver room. He deserves a chance to show if he can be the guy with a much-improved supporting cast.
