Oregon-Oregon State rivalry renewed with 4 future games scheduled

The Civil War rivalry is back on the menu.

The future of the annual in-state showdown between Oregon and Oregon State was in jeopardy after the Ducks left the Pac-12. Though they have played in each of the last two seasons, the rivalry won't be renewed this fall for the first time since the 1944 season.

However, it will make its return in 2028 after a second year off. On Tuesday, the schools announced four new games, which will be played in 2028 and 2032 in Corvallis and 2029 and 2031 in Eugene. They will not face during the 2030 season.

Oregon has won the last three matchups, and it leads the all-time series 70-49-10. The teams first played in 1894 and have played in all but two seasons since 1912.

What used to be a conference game is no more as the Ducks left the Pac-12 for the Big Ten ahead of the 2024 season. The Beavers remained in the Pac-12 and will begin play in the new-look, eight-team league.
