Mahomes roasts Kelce after Cleveland Guardians ownership announcement
· Yahoo Sports
This week, news broke that star tight end Travis Kelce will be purchasing a minority stake in the Cleveland Guardians — marking the second time that a Kansas City Chiefs player has made a foray into ownership of an MLB franchise.
Kelce is following in the footsteps of his teammate — three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes — who bought a minority share of the Kansas City Royals in 2020.

When Kelce's purchase was announced on May 27, Mahomes took the opportunity to congratulate and rib the All-Pro pass-catcher by resurfacing old footage of a failed first-pitch thrown by the Cleveland native at a Guardians game of yore:

Now set to have separate investments in American League Central rivals, Kelce and Mahomes may soon experience friction in their off-field relationship for the first time in their careers.
For his part, Kelce will hope that his excursion into franchise ownership will go over better than this embarrassing first pitch.
