The Tuscaloosa Super Regional was clinched when Alabama (40-19) defeated 2-seed Oklahoma State (39-22) on Sunday, May 31. The Cowboys fell 9-7 for the Crimson Tide to claim its first region championship under Rob Vaughn, who was hired after the 2023 season.

Here's more to know on the Crimson Tide's history in the supers.

Last time Alabama baseball made supers wasn't long ago

The Crimson Tide last advanced to super regionals in 2023 amid a gambling scandal that saw associate head coach Jason Jackson step in as Alabama's interim leader after head coach Brad Bohannon resigned.

Then, Alabama was the No. 16 national seed and had to travel to Wake Forest, where it took back-to-back losses.

That trip to Winston-Salem broke a supers drought that exceeded a decade. The Crimson Tide hadn't made it to the super regional since traveling to Clemson in 2010.

When is the last time Tuscaloosa hosted super regional?

Alabama reached game three against the Tigers − an improvement from its most recent in the supers, which was also the last time that the Crimson Tide hosted the round as the No. 4 overall seed.

This year's NCAA Tuscaloosa Super Regional, scheduled from June 5-8, will be Alabama's first time hosting since 2006. That year, North Carolina took the best-of-three series in the first two games.

The Crimson Tide also hosted super regionals in 1999 − the last time Alabama appeared in the College World Series.
