It is no secret that the New England Patriots' newly acquired wide receiver A.J. Brown's greatest strength is his vertical threat.
It is also no secret that nobody in the NFL threw a better deep ball than Drake Maye last season.
The marriage feels like the perfect union, and the duo's career numbers against man coverage might just prove it.

Last season, Maye threw for nearly 4,400 yards. A little more than 25% of those yards came against man coverage, the fourth most in the league.
More than half of his 31 touchdown passes came against man as well. His 18 TDs thrown against man coverage were tied for the third most in the NFL.
Brown's sample size is much larger.
Nobody in the NFL had more catches or more receiving yards against man coverage than Brown did after joining the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.
Brown stood atop the competition with a league-high 129 receptions for a league-high 1,977 yards.
He's also hauled in 22 touchdowns, good for the fourth-highest mark across the league.
Maye's ability to make any throw on the field, coupled with Brown's unparalleled dominance on contested catches, spells trouble for the entire AFC.
