Former Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson gestures to the crowd during a college football game between the University of Oklahoma Sooners (OU) and the TCU Horned Frogs at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla., Friday, Nov. 24, 2023. Oklahoma won 69-45.Nathan Jahnke of profootballfocus.com wrote about the best offensive and defensive players on the Vikings over the last 20 seasons. To no surprise, Peterson made this team as the star running back. He headlines this solid offensive unit that this franchise has seen over the last 20 seasons. Jahnke said,
“The Vikings’ offense combines two of the franchise’s most successful eras from the past 20 seasons. The earlier group was built around a dominant rushing attack led by future Hall of Fame running back Adrian Peterson, Hall of Fame left guard Steve Hutchinson and a strong offensive line.”
Peterson rushed for 1,000 or more yards seven times in his career with Minnesota and scored 10 or more touchdowns in a season eight times with them. There is no question that he should be a first ballot hall of famer come next year. Peterson was impossible to stop week in and week out during his prime years with the Vikings also.
