Is third time the charm? How about three times lucky?
Retired school teacher and Dunchurch, Ont., resident Nigel A. has won $50,000, a top prize with Instant Cash in a multi-win. It’s his third lottery prize win.
The 63-year-old said he has won other times — once in 2014 and again in 2019.
Nigel won $250,000 on an Instant $250 Grand scratch ticket in March 2019, which he purchased at a Canadian Tire Gas Bar in Parry Sound, and previously won an undisclosed amount in 2014 according to Parry Sound North Star .
Nigel says he discovered his most recent win while playing his ticket at his favourite store.
Lottery winner pumped his fist upon learning of third win
“I had my ticket validated and pumped my fist in the air!” he shared with the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings.
When asked what it’s like to win the lottery for a third time, Nigel said, “It feels surreal. I’m living my dream.”
With his windfall, he plans to vacation in Honduras and purchase an ATV.
The winning ticket was purchased at McKellar General Store on Centre Rd. in McKellar.
OLG changes the way it lists winners, using first names only
In April 2026, the OLG changed the way it shares lottery winner information with media outlets, which resulted in winners’ last names not appearing in their press releases for privacy reasons.
However, the full names of winners over $1,000 are published on the OLG website for 30 days, including the name, city, and the prize won.
