Marc Cucurella ‘believes his time’ at Chelsea ‘is at an end’ — report
· Yahoo Sports
Catalan media have started to make a fair bit of noise over Marc Cucurella in recent days, with a story in La Vanguardia making some of the strongest and most definitive claims yet about the left back’s future.
As they put it, Cucurella “believes his time at Chelsea, after four seasons, has come to an end”. Time for a recoupling then?

Barcelona have been linked for a few months now of course, and their sporting director, Deco, may or may not have already checked in with Cucu’s camp. As a former Barcelona man himself, Cucurella would surely be interested, obviously … though Barca’s primary target at the position is João Cancelo (on another loan from Al-Hilal) and Cucu would only really enter their thinking if Alejandro Balde were to leave. That’s far from guaranteed at the moment.
But Barca may not be the only interested party, with Atlético Madrid and even Manchester City linked as well. The report would expect a transfer fee in the range of €40-50m, which would only be helped by more potential suitors vying and bidding against each other.
Cucurella’s now getting ready for the World Cup with Spain, which always complicates these sorts of already-complicated matters. I do still think he’s one of the least impactful big-money outgoing transfer moves we can make this summer, so hopefully we can find a nice win-win situation for all involved.
