La Liga champions Barcelona have this week activated their option to make the signing of youngster Hamza Abdelkarim permanent.
Frontman Abdelkarim, for those not familiar with his name, linked up with Barcelona during the January transfer window, on a short-term loan deal from Al Ahly.
And the 18-year-old, long considered a star in the making in his home country of Egypt, went on to thoroughly impress in Blaugrana colours.
Lining out for the club’s U19s, after a frustrating spell awaiting registration, Abdelkarim found the net six times in eight league appearances.
Such exploits proved enough for the gifted attacker to secure a place for himself in Egypt’s senior squad for this summer’s World Cup.
And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, the good news has only continued to pour in for Abdelkarim.

‘Barcelona have activated the buy option clause to sign Egyptian talent Hamza Abdelkarim from Al Ahly on permanent deal. Fee: €1.5m plus add-ons.’
