Penn State predicted to land 4-star edge rusher by 247Sports

Penn State is trying to make one final recruiting push before they begin gearing up for the season. Matt Campbell and his staff have built a strong 2027 recruiting class in recent months, but were unable to take their foot off the gas because of a couple commitment flips.

Last week, four-star cornerback Semajay Robinson and three-star cornerback Zachary Gleason changed their commitments to Virginia and West Virginia respectively. They were tough blows to the Nittany Lions, but they picked themselves right back up and hosted one of their largest official visits of the year this weekend. Bringing in these large groups of players puts pressure on the school to earn some commitments, and while that hasn’t happened just yet, things could be trending that way.

247Sports insider Brian Dohn released a Crystal Ball prediction for four-star defensive lineman Elijah Guertin, believing he will commit to Penn State in the near future.

The Nittany Lions only joined the race for Guertin a little more than two months ago and it looks like they could already be the favorites to land him. It would be a notable accomplishment for Penn State if they got his commitment, as it would mark one of their first premium edge rushers in the 2027 class.

Guertin hasn’t even scratched the surface of his physical prime and he already stands at a massive 6-5 and 255 pounds. Not only does he have enormous size, but he’s also a versatile athlete who runs track and plays both sides on the football field. Guertin has the potential to become one of the best pass rushers in school history if Penn State lands him.
