Report: Germany players get a chance to rest and recuperate following 7-1 World Cup win
· Yahoo Sports
Germany’s 7-1 victory over Curaçao in the country’s World Cup opener will have served to give every German a huge sigh of relief. This was the first win in a World Cup opener since 2014, which puts the Germans in a very good position to qualify from their group. The upcoming schedule will become difficult and intense if they do manage to advance further in the competition, but not right now. There are 6 days between the opener and Germany’s next match against Côte d’Iviore.

Reportedly, head coach Julian Nagelsmann took the opportunity and gave his players some time off. Bild claims (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) that the players will be given two days of rest:
Julian Nagelsmann allowed the players’ wives and girlfriends to join them at the base camp in Winston-Salem after yesterday’s game. The players will have Monday and Tuesday off to spend time with their loved ones before the preparation for Côte d’Ivoire begins on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, full focus will be on a victory against their African opponents and a guaranteed progression from the group stages before their third group stage match against Ecuador.
