Karlyn Pickens pitches in relief, earns third AUSL win

Carolina (4-1) concluded a two-game series against Texas (1-4) in the AUSL on Monday. The Blaze completed a two-game sweep with a, 6-5, win in nine innings at Smith Family Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.
Former Lady Vol Karlyn Pickens (3-0) pitched three innings in relief for Carolina, earning her third win of the season. She recorded three strikeouts and 52 pitches (32 strikes). Pickens allowed three walks, one hit, one earned run and hit one batter.

Former Lady Vol Aubrey Leach also played second base and center field for the Blaze in Game 2. She went 0-for-3 and walked two times, scoring two runs.
In Game 1, Pickens started for Carolina and earned her second win. She totaled 101 pitches, including 60 strikes, and five strikeouts.
Pickens was selected No. 1 in the 2026 AUSL college draft.
Carolina will next play on Wednesday at Chicago. First pitch between the Blaze and Bandits is scheduled for 6 p.m. EDT at The Stadium at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Illinois.
