Central GST Jabalpur Raid Exposes ₹300 Crore Online Gaming Tax Evasion In Satna

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A tax GST evasion of ₹300 crore was estimated after Anti-Evasion Bureau team of Central GST Jabalpur raided three firms related to online gaming in Madhya Pradesh's Satna, as reported on Sunday.

According to information, the incident occurred on Saturday night. The action targeted 3 online gaming centers operating from a colony near Pushkarni Park in the city.

During the operation, business-related documents were seized under Section 67 of the GST Act.

Following the investigation, the team took all the documents back to Jabalpur.

Local office completely unaware

The operation was so confidential that the local Central GST office had no inkling of it. More than half a dozen officials from Jabalpur Central GST were part of the team.

According to sources, online gaming activities at all the centers were being conducted through a single center. All three of them were investigated.

Additionally, all three firms share the same directors and were operating from the same location.

Large-scale financial transactions were carried out via the online gaming platforms.

Bogus bills worth ₹10 crore issued

On the night of December 27, 2025, the State GST team raided the Bhanvartal-based office of legal consultant Ashish Kotwani following information regarding the illegal claiming of Input Tax Credit through fake aluminium scrap bills.

The office was sealed after irregularities were detected. The investigation also uncovered forged documents.

It was revealed that bogus bills amounting to approximately ₹10 crore had been issued.

Four firms were being operated in the names of his wife, brother, and father

Preliminary investigations estimate tax evasion of ₹300 crore. A thorough examination of the seized documents is currently underway
