Cops seeking suspect ID after child sex assault; woman accused of murder surrenders

Toronto Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a sexual interference investigation.

On Sunday at about 7 p.m., police responded to a call for a sexual assault on a child in the Victoria Park-St. Clair Aves. area.

The victim was at a grocery store in the area with their parents when a unknown suspect sexually assaulted them and then fled while being chased by a civilian.

The suspect is male, about 30 years old and has a thin build. He was last seen wearing a green T-shirt, dark Adidas shorts and pink Crocs.

THIRD PERSON CHARGED WITH TORONTO MAN’S MURDER

A 25-year-old Toronto woman wanted for second-degree murder is in custody.

Dzsenifer Olah turned herself in to police on Sunday after being named as the third person charged in the June 14 slaying of Erik Safar, 32, of Toronto. Two men have also been charged with second-degree murder.

Cops said that around 6 a.m. that day they responded to an unknown trouble call in the Keele St.-Wilson Ave. area.

They said a group of people were fighting when an adult male was assaulted and struck by a vehicle. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said an unknown number of suspects fled in a light-coloured vehicle.

YOUTHS APPROACHED IN HAMILTON

Hamilton Police are asking for the public’s help after two suspicious vehicle-related incidents involving youth in the Marion St. area.

On Thursday around 9:45 a.m., a black SUV stopped a female youth in the area of Marion and Spitfire Dr. with the vehicle being driven by a female and joined by a male in the front passenger seat.

Cops said the driver engaged the youth in conversation about dating the male passenger. The youth said she had a boyfriend and walked away.

On Friday around 9:10 a.m., a white SUV was seen in the Marion-Longview Crt. area and the vehicle was again driven by a female with a male in the front passenger seat.

Police said the driver attempted to engage a different female youth in conversation, but she didn’t approach the vehicle and immediately left.

Although the vehicles involved were different colours, police said similar description were given for the female driver and male passenger in both incidents.

The female is of East Indian descent with brown skin, about 47 to 60 years old, has long black hair in a low ponytail, unkempt hair at the front and brown eyes. She was wearing glasses, a black shirt and grey cardigan.

The male is of East Indian descent with brown skin, about 32 to 47 years old, has a large build, thick, black, curly hair, a large black curly beard and dark eyes. He was wearing a black T-shirt.

Hamilton Police are asking residents and motorists in the area to review any video footage from the area around the time of these incidents.
