PEOPLE caught up with the San Francisco 49ers tight end, 32, during the annual three-day training camp, which he co-founded with Swift's fiancé Travis Kelce, 36, and sportscaster Greg Olsen, 41.

Last year's opening night ceremony at TEU served as Swift and Kelce's red-carpet debut and was topped off with a surprise performance from the singer at the Tight Ends & Friends concert.

This year, the program comes days after Swift and Kelce's pre-wedding celebrations amid rumors that they will tie the knot this summer following their August 2025 engagement, which means so much to Kittle.

"She's just such an awesome person to give us her time this close to their wedding," he tells PEOPLE. "So we're just so thankful that they're here."

Reflecting on his experience with the pop star at last year's annual program, he said, "She just has a great time," which is what makes things "so much fun."

"She's just hanging out, talking to my mom," says Kittle. "Thanks mom. Shoutout Taylor for talking to my mom again. But she's just so kind and its awesome to have her around."

At the 2025 Tight Ends & Friends concert at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, Swift, 36, surprised fans when she took the stage to sing her 2014 hit “Shake It Off.”

"The crowd lost their minds," an exclusive source told PEOPLE about the surprise moment. "At the end of her performance, she made sure to thank the band and gave each one of them a hug.”

Speaking about Swift's TEU performance during an episode of Offseason in May, Kittle said he could not "confirm or deny" whether the singer would be performing at the year's Tight Ends & Friends concert, which will be taking place at The Pinnacle in Nashville on Tuesday, June 23.
