Formula 1 competed in Austria, and it was a thrilling event. George Russell started on the pole with Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton behind him. Mercedes had the most speed, but were they able to execute? At the end of the day, it was a dominant victory.

Russell and the No. 63 team for Mercedes won the Austrian Grand Prix, earning his second victory of the 2026 Formula 1 season. The Mercedes driver was able to pull away and have a sizable gap over second-place finisher Max Verstappen, with Kimi Antonelli rounding out the podium.
Following the event, Russell has jumped Hamilton in the standings with a 40-point deficit to Antonelli. The driver of the No. 63 car has a six-point advantage over Hamilton. It was a great run for Russell, who finally returned to victory lane for the first time since Australia.
