Speaking on the Richard Sherman Podcast, Sherman offered an encouraging assessment of Teasley, whom he came to know during their time together in Seattle, expressing confidence that the Vikings have made the right choice as the leader their front office into the future.
"It's really incredible and it's fantastic and I love it. He's a guy that works incredibly hard. A guy who cares about the players, he cares about his job, he cares about the organizations. And I think he's put in time. And I think that's the hard part for a lot of people getting these positions is they haven't worked themselves through, you know, they haven't taken the stairs to the top. A lot of people get the elevator and then you get to the top and you don't know how to operate. But when you take the stairs, you know how the building operates, you know what the fourth, first floor does, you know what the second floor does, you know what the third floor does. And I think that's important in leadership and the guys who are put in leadership positions. And I think I think he's going to do a fantastic job for the for the Minnesota Vikings. And I'm excited."
Sherman's comments reinforce the reputation Teasley has continuously built throughout his rise in the Seahawks front office, where he steadily climbed the personnel ladder before ultimately landing his first general manager position in Minnesota.
The 42-year-old Teasley has built a relationship with Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell over the years through mutual connections with Seahawks general manager John Schneider. Those existing ties helped make Teasley an appealing candidate for O'Connell and the Vikings during the process, ultimately leading to his hiring after multiple interviews.
During the 2026 SMWW Football Career Conference, Teasley was asked what skill separates good evaluators from great general managers. Here's what he had to say:
"Being open-minded and being organized are the two things that I'm going to tell you, because as I kind of think about our process and how we make decisions in terms of acquisition, I don't have enough hubris. I'm not arrogant enough to tell you that I'm better at watching football than you are. But I do have a process, and I think my superpower is the ability to take in information from a lot of different people that have different areas of expertise and then implement that and build a process off of that that ultimately leads me to trying to make sound decisions in a short period of time."
