Halls assistant softball coach Dedra Johnson has died, the program announced on social media on June 29.

"We are heartbroken to share the passing our our beloved Assistant Coach, Dedra Johnson," the Halls softball program wrote on its Instagram page.
"Dedra poured her heart and soul into the Halls High School softball program, first as a player and later as a coach. Her passion for the game, lover for her players, and unwavering dedication to our program left an immeasurable impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Please keep Gordon, Sydney, Shelbey, the entire Johnson and Spann families, our softball program, and our community in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
