This is the question that ESPN's Michael DiRocco was asked recently. His pick? Wide receiver Parker Washington.
"There's no reason to think it won't be WR Parker Washington ... again. He has been one of the camp standouts in each of the past two seasons," DiRocco wrote. "It hadn't really translated to the regular season until last year, when he moved into a bigger role after injuries to Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. Washington responded with career highs in catches (58), yards (847) and TDs (five)."
This would be nothing new for Washington. As DiRocco mentions, Washington was a standout performer the previous two summers, and last year, that ended up being a sign of what was to come as he put together a breakout year.
Along with Washington's overall production, he became a go-to target for Trevor Lawrence and finished the season eclipsing the 100-yard receiving mark in three of the Jaguars' final four games.
From Weeks 16-18, Washington ranked tied for sixth among receivers in receptions, third in yards, and seventh in targets, according to PFF.
Good things happened when the ball was in Washington's hands.
In addition to Washington turning heads, Brian Thomas Jr. could be a strong candidate to do so as well after his performance during offseason programs.
Washington, who is currently set to enter the final year of his rookie deal, is a prime contract extension candidate.
