After coming in at No. 7 ahead of the 2025 season, Taylor came in at No. 5 on this year's rankings.
According to Fowler, 30% of the votes that Taylor received by league personnel were for the top three.
"Really special in space," an NFL coordinator told Fowler. "Once he hits the second and third levels with some space to operate, he's uniquely talented."
Taylor was again one of the more productive backs in football last season, totaling 1,585 rushing yards. He continues to be explosive as well, ranking ninth in yards per rush and tied for third in rushes of 10-plus yards.
In addition to shouldering a very heavy workload out of the backfield, Shane Steichen also got Taylor more involved in the passing game last season as well.
It is Taylor who sets the table for the Colts offense. With a strong and steady run game to lean on, that keeps the Colts out of predictable long down-and-distance situations and opens up the playbook for Steichen.
