OXFORD — Ole Miss basketball has added an overseas veteran as coach Chris Beard continues to fill out his roster.

Guard Ben Henshall, 22, will join Ole Miss from Australia. The NBL Wildcats, his professional team in Perth, confirmed the news on July 8.

He is a 6-foot-5 guard from Perth, which is in western Australia. The NBL is the premier league across Australia and New Zealand.

Henshall played three seasons in the NBL and averaged 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists on 43% shooting. He attracted NBA interest in 2025 but went undrafted in 2025 and 2026.

"There's a lot of mixed emotions," Henshall said in a press release. "I'm going to miss this a lot."

Henshall will have at least one season of eligibility. ESPN reported that Ole Miss hopes he will be granted two seasons of eligibility.

Henshall is the 13th player on the roster. The Rebels can have up to 15 players. Beard said June 23 that he and the Ole Miss coaching staff were working deliberately to fill out the roster, and he wasn't concerned about not having every spot filled.

"I wouldn't say it's a disadvantage," Beard said. "If we were the only team in the country that was doing it, it would be a disadvantage, but that's not accurate."
