Lakers fans happy to see LeBron leave? Derek Fisher doesn't get it

Los Angeles Lakers legend Derek Fisher doesn't understand why some fans have "celebrated" LeBron James' recent departure from the franchise.

As James searches for his next team, Fisher appeared on Yahoo Sports Daily this week to discuss the King's exit from Los Angeles and why he's dismayed at the public reaction to the move.
To Fisher, he's very confused why some Lakers fans have been thrilled to see James leave the team.
"A lot of people in LA didn’t love LeBron’s time here... I think people have moved on," Fisher said on the appearance. "A lot of fans have."

Whew. To hear that from Fisher is pretty notable. James brought a title to the Lakers during his stint with the franchise, so he clearly contributed positively to Los Angeles. However, as Fisher said, James isn't a legacy Laker who will forever be primarily associated with the franchise and, as Fisher put it, "became who they were as Lakers."
"I think a lot of Lakers fans had a difficult time receiving the fact that LeBron was already LeBron before he got here," Fisher added.
We're sure James' tenure with the Lakers will look much better in the rearview, particularly as that 2020 title gets further and further away. However, Fisher would know as well as anyone how to quantify the reactions right now.
Where will LeBron land next?
Our best guess is he finishes his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but nobody knows for sure.
