Not to say the Toronto Blue Jays should be buyers at this year's trade deadline, but I still believe Toronto can be a much better team than it has been over the last few months.

I truly believe that once this team gets healthy, it can be one of the better teams in baseball. The problem for the Blue Jays is that things are starting to get late early, as the New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox, and Baltimore Orioles have all had decent seasons.
Regardless, a recent report indicated that the San Diego Padres could move on from Mason Miller, and with questions about Jeff Hoffman's future in Toronto, I think Miller would be a perfect target.
“Mason Miller, San Diego Padres (Contract Details: Final year, $4 million). AJ Preller hasn’t thrown cold water on trade rumors, leaving the door open for the Padres to be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. Miller throws hard and is one of the league leaders in saves this year. Miller will be a difference-maker with whichever organization he is with once the dust settles,” Caleb Kerney wrote.
The interesting part about Miller here is that even if the Blue Jays struggle toward the back end of this season and don't have a great year, it doesn't really affect the decision to go after Miller.
The right-handed closer is a free agent in 2030, so he has multiple years of control left.
