Pirates' Paul Skenes Believes Youngster Will Eventually be All-Star
· Yahoo Sports
The Pittsburgh Pirates aren’t too well represented at Major League Baseball's All-Star Game, a harsh reality of where the organization stands at the moment. Still, the Pirates have a lot to be happy about, and there's even a sense that, in the future, they could be well represented in the All-Star Game.

Ultimately, they'll have to make the right moves and hope that certain guys continue to develop at a very high level.
Right now, the Pirates will at least get to watch one of their superstars on the field in Paul Skenes. Skenes, who seems like a guaranteed All-Star, also believes that Pittsburgh deserved a bit more respect in the All-Star Game and vouched for some of his young teammates to be on the team in the future.
"It's cool because he was one of the first guys I met when I got into Pro ball. I'm in Altoona, Pennsylvania and I was shut down and I was kind of just hanging out and he was one of the first guys I met at that time. I was on the same team as Bubba [Chandler] and now we're on the same team, having success in the major leagues.
"It's special. It's special to see him do it. It's special to do it with him and it's gonna continue. I think Bubba will be an All-Star at some point, Jared [Jones] will be an All-Star at some point. So to be able to share the experience with them is cool," Skenes said, H/T Clutch Points.
One thing I always loved about Skenes is that he comes out and says a lot of the right things about his teammates. It would be very easy for him to make certain comments, but instead of doing so, he continues to speak highly of everyone involved. That's a great thing about a young man who many consider one of the best in Major League Baseball.
