Key question for Colts' cornerback unit ahead of training camp

Up next are the cornerbacks, a position with a lot of competition but only so many roster spots to go around.
How does the rest of the Colts' cornerback depth chart shake out?
What we know heading into training camp is that Sauce Gardner, Charvarius Ward, and Justin Walley will start and hold the top three spots on the cornerback depth chart.
But after that, there is still a lot to be decided.
Vying for a roster spot are Cam Taylor-Britt, Johnathan Edwards, Mekhi Blackmon, Jaylon Jones, and Cameron Mitchell. Teams will typically roster five or six cornerbacks on the 53-man, which means that two to three of these players will be on the outside looking in during roster cutdowns.
Two names to watch closely here are Blackmon and Edwards. Blackmon would play over 700 snaps for Lou Anarumo last season, while Edwards put together a strong showing during offseason programs. These two could be the early front-runners for those final roster spots.
Jones dealt with injuries last season, but even when healthy, he struggled to carve out a steady role in Anarumo's defense. Mitchell took advantage of the opportunities that came his way, although it was a smaller sample size, and Taylor-Britt has past experience with Anarumo, playing his best ball under him.
That said, nothing is in stone at this point, and there are still a lot of practices and three preseason games to go before anything has to be finalized.
