Jones had a breakout season last spring, starting in 58 games while making 56 of his 57 starts in center field. He slashed .317/.418/.478, tying for the team high in batting average and sacrifice flies (six) while pacing Florida in doubles (16), stolen bases (17) and multi-hit games (22) over a team second-best 224 at-bats.
The Athens, Georgia, native also added a career-high six home runs, along with 71 hits, 58 runs, 46 RBI, 33 walks and 10 hit-by-pitches over 275 total plate appearances during his redshirt sophomore season. He was also perfect with the glove, recording a 1.000 fielding percentage on 113 defensive chances and one assist.
The 6-foot-3-inch outfielder went 2-for-4 with a home run while driving in a pair of runs in the NCAA Tournament win over the Rider Broncs, helping him earn a spot on the 2026 NCAA Gainesville Regional All-Tournament Team.
In 2025, after transferring from the Stetson Hatters, Jones started just four games in center field before being sidelined with season-ending shoulder surgery, resulting in a medical redshirt. He went 5-for-16 for a .313/.353/.375 slash line across 16 at-bats, tallying one double, three runs, two RBIs and one walk.
Before coming to Florida, Jones played 62 games with Stetson in center field while primarily batting leadoff, leading the team in hits (88), doubles (15) and runs scored (53) while slashing .355/.459/.476 with five home runs, 32 RBI, 20 multi-base hits and 23 stolen bases. He earned 2024 NCBWA Second Team Freshman All-American honors while also being named the ASUN Freshman of the Year and a 2024 NCAA Gold Glove Finalist, along with spots on the Freshman All-ASUN and All-Conference Third Team.
