Denzel Valentine signs deal with Italian basketball club

The professional basketball career of Denzel Valentine will continue. It was announced this week that Valentine has signed a new deal with Apu Udine of Italy's Lega Basket Serie A, Italy's top basketball league. Apu Udine was just promoted to Serie A after the 2024-25 season.

Valentine has largely been playing abroad, mainly in Italy with the exception of one season in Australia, since 2023. Last year, he played for Reyer Venezia Mestre, also of Lega Basket Serie A.
Valentine's last year of NBA basketball was in 2022, when he had a brief stint with the Utah Jazz and the Boston Celtics before playing in the G-League. Valentine played five total years in the NBA, with his best year coming in 2017-18, where he started 37 games for the Chicago Bulls. Unfortunately, issues with his ankle led to him missing the entire 2018-19 season. Fortunately, he's gotten to a point where he can still play high-level international ball and earn a nice living playing basketball.
