Former Bills CB during early portion of Josh Allen era retires

Levi Wallace went from undrafted free agent from Alabama to key No. 2 cornerback during the Buffalo Bills rise to prominence early in the Josh Allen era, and now he’s decided to hang up his cleats.

The four-year Bills cornerback recently told ESPN Tucson he was officially retired:
“I’ve been retired for a while, honestly,” Wallace said on ESPN Tucson’s “Spears & Ali” Tuesday morning. “People are making a big deal out of it because I officially announced it. Mentally, I’ve been done, so I’m doing other stuff and venturing out and seeing what else is out there. I have to, in a sense, reinvent myself and realize, ‘What is it that I really want do besides football, a sport I’ve been playing since I was 5 years old?’ I’ve enjoyed it. I’m excited for what next season holds.”
A former walk-on at Nick Saban’s Alabama program, Wallace didn’t hear his name called in the 2018 NFL Draft after a three-interception, 15 pass breakup 2017 in which the Crimson Tide won the national title.
He made an immediate impact in Buffalo with three PBUs and 37 tackles in seven contests as a rookie before he moved into a full-time role in his second season in which he appeared in all 16 regular season games.
Wallace snagged two interceptions per season in 2019, 2020, and 2021 and knocked away 30 passes in his four seasons with the Bills during the regular season. He played on over 75% of the defensive snaps in both 2019 and 2021, clearly emerging as a reliable cornerback in Sean McDermott’s defense because of his zone savviness and natural ball skills.
After his Bills career, Wallace, now 31, spent two seasons with the Broncos and finished his regular-season career in Pittsburgh. He got injured in camp with the Jaguars in 2025.
