Sean McVay sends well wishes to Kyle Shanahan after his serious car crash

On Saturday, it was reported that San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was involved in a car accident near his home in the middle of July, suffering significant injuries that will limit his ability to participate in training camp.

ESPN's Adam Schefter detailed the extent of Shanahan's injuries.
"Shanahan broke his nose, three ribs, his hand, needed over 40 stiches in his face and suffered a severe concussion during a July 14 car accident when he collided with an SUV near his northern California home," wrote Schefter.
The Los Angeles Rams and 49ers share an intense rivalry, but the coaches who command those franchises, Shanahan and Sean McVay, have a close relationship that goes beyond football.
During the opening of Rams' training camp, McVay was asked about the accident. McVay stated that he spoke to Shanahan and that he loves the 49ers head coach.
“Most importantly, thank God he and the other person involved is okay,” stated McVay. “Perspective is everything. We talk about that all the time as coaches and everybody goes through different things. I think the most important thing is that he's on the road to recovery, his wife Mandy, and he's got a beautiful family, and I think any time that something like that happens, it shakes you up a little bit.
"But most importantly, I have talked to him. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and I know he's got an incredible perspective on it all. Kyle's a stud. I have as much respect for him as anybody and he's a friend of mine, and I love him and hope that he's going to have a great recovery.”
McVay and Shanahan worked together on Mike Shanahan's staff in Washington and are tied for being the second-longest tenured head coaches in the NFL, behind Andy Reid. The Rams and 49ers are set to kick off their season, playing each other in Melbourne, Australia.
This will be the 10th season for each coach with their respective franchises.
