Ohio State basketball in top five for top ten center in 2027 class

While the excitement is building for what the Ohio State basketball roster could lead to in the 2026-27 season, head coach Jake Diebler and staff are still working hard to lure top talent for the future to keep things building.

On that note, a top-ten four-star center included the Buckeyes in his top five. Out of Warminster, Pennsylvania, the 6-foot, 10-inch Jaydn Jenkins had OSU along with Georgetown, Xavier, NC State, and Michigan State in the group he announced on social media on Saturday. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Jenkins is ranked as the No. 8 center and 45th overall prospect in the 2027 class.

It's still a little too early to get excited about being in the top five here, but it's better than not being included. According to another post by League Ready on X, Jenkins is set to make a visit to Columbus Sept. 25-27. If you are looking at a calendar, Ohio State football hosts Illinois on that Saturday, Sept. 26. We're quite sure that will be a part of the scarlet carpet rolled out, along with a tour of the basketball facilities and meetings with the coaches.

We'll continue to follow this recruitment as more news becomes available. Rooting for a spectacular season on the court for this year's Ohio State team could go a long way toward keeping OSU in the running for the talented big man.
