Former Raiders DB coach receives rest of punishment for drunk driving charge

Today the Vikings took action and handed down punishment for defensive backs coach Gerald Alexander for a DWI conviction he had this offseason. Giving the seventh-year NFL DB coach a three-week suspension.
According to police reports, at around 4am on April 26, Alexander was found passed out at the wheel of his car at an intersection. He then failed physical tests and blew a .169 on the breathalizer test, well over the legal limit.

The former NFL safety pleaded guilty on July 16 to third-degree DWI and was sentenced pay $603 in fines, perform 48 hours of community service and serve two years probation.
Just a season ago, Alexander was the safeties coach for the Las Vegas Raiders under then head coach Antonio Pierce. When Pierce was fired, Alexander was also not brought back. He spent last season as the DB coach in Pittsburgh. And now he is having a rough start to his tenure as the DB coach and defensive pass game coordinator in Minnesota.
His suspension began on Friday and will go through August 13.
